§ 137-20. Habitual barking and other noise.

  • It shall be unlawful for any person knowingly to keep any animal which habitually barks, howls, yelps, whines or cries to the great discomfort of the peace and quiet of the neighborhood or in such manner as to materially disturb or annoy persons in the neighborhood. Such animals are hereby declared to be a public nuisance and, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:48-1, are also declared to be a disturbing noise. Barking, howling, or the making of other loud noises by such animal continually for more than 15 minutes or intermittently for 30 minutes, unless provoked, shall be deemed to disturb the peace and to cause the annoyance and discomfort of persons in the Borough of Bellmawr.
